To be able to drive during winter, you need to have a tyres that is approved for winter use. A tyre that is approved will have a symbol on the sidewall of the tyre; the winter tyre symbol is a mountaintop with 3 peaks with a snowflake in it. If you see this on your tyres, then they are approved for driving during the winter conditions. If you do not have it, do not attempt to drive if it is minus degrees outside.
When driving, make sure that you drive carefully, that you keep your distance and that you don’t drive too fast. Braking will require more distance than during the summer, so factor this in, when you are driving. Good quality winter tyres will make the braking distance shorter, however.
